Skeptics Among Us?

We gave a speech on social networking yesterday, and there was a skeptic in the audience. First, he questioned how anyone could make money on facebook. Ah, we had him there. Check out our first article. Then, he wondered who was paying for all of this wonderful stuff. Well, as consumers, we actually are, through the goods and services we buy. You see, there is a lot of paid social network advertising. Last year, MySpace took in $1 billion, and facebook $300 million. Flash in the pan? We think not. Morphing into something else? Absolutely.

Can You Make Money on Facebook?

The answer is, "Yes!" By posting events and inviting your friends, and having them invite their friends, you can get customers to your events. One of our customers posted a special event only three days before the date, and found three new customers who are now raving about their products.

And we got a new customer from facebook, too. It seems that an old contact couldn't find our contact information anywhere else, so went to facebook and sent us a message. So when you ask us where you should be to find new customers, we say anywhere that they might look, including social networking sites!
